Where bold flavour
meets a lucky streak
Roo & Emu Bistro is a wood-fired kitchen with a private gaming salon behind the brass bar. Come for the slow-cooked kangaroo, stay for the midnight roulette — the coffee is serious and the wheel never sleeps.
Five plates the regulars bet on
Charcoal Kangaroo Loin
Pepperberry crust, smoked bone-marrow jus, charred native plums.
Kingfish & Finger Lime
Cured kingfish, finger lime pearls, sea herbs and a dash of smoked oil.
45-Day Dry-Aged Ribeye
Grass-fed WA beef, bone-marrow butter, burnt onion jam.
The Golden Chip
Milk-chocolate poker chip, salted caramel centre, gold-leaf dust.
A bistro that never stopped believing in Friday night
We opened in 2009 with a second-hand grill, a borrowed roulette wheel and a promise: proper food, fair odds, no attitude. The wheel is newer now. The promise hasn't changed.

Words from the regulars
Sixteen years of birthdays, windfalls and Tuesday-night schnitzels. Here's what the room says when we're not listening.
Marble, brass and a little neon
The room was built in 1904 as a watchmaker's showroom. We kept the pressed-metal ceiling, added a seven-metre brass bar, and let the roulette wheel do the sparkling.
